In-House Laboratory Testing

In-House Laboratory

We offer in-house testing for diseases as such as:
  • Heartworm
  • Feline Leukemia
  • Feline Immunodeficiency Virus
  • Parvo
  • Intestinal Parasites
  • Basic General Health Profiles
We can also perform most general health profiles in-house.  Because the tests are performed in-house, we can give you same-day results.  This benefits your pet because we can begin necessary treatment immediately.  In addition, we recommend pre-surgical screening for all of our surgical patients.  This allows us to get a baseline of information about your pet's health.  In addition we may learn of a "hidden" pre-existing condition.

When additional lab tests are desired, we can also submit them to outside reference labs.  These labs run the tests and then report the test results to your pet's doctor.  After review, the doctor will then contact you to report the results.

Digital Radiology

Picture
Our digital x-ray unit produces sharp, high-quality diagnostic images of your pet.  This enables our doctors to make a quicker, more accurate diagnosis.  This means that we can start treating your pet sooner.  Digital x-rays have many advantages for your pet, our hospital, and the environment.  Because the image quality of digital x-rays is higher, your pet spends less time on the x-ray table.  This means less stress on your pet.  Digital x-rays can be manipulated to vary the contrast of the image or magnify areas of concern.  Because of this advantage, we can see things on the digital image that a film x-ray wouldn't allow us to see.  Unlike traditional plate x-rays, no film is developed for digital x-rays, so no toxic chemicals are needed to produce the x-rays.
