Planning a family getaway? Newton Animal Hospital in Newton, Kansas, can care for your pet while you are away. We strive to make your pet comfortable, safe, and happy during their stay with us.
We are pleased to offer separate boarding areas for dogs and cats. PLUS, our boarded pets are not kept with our hospitalized patients.
Our kennel staff is trained to monitor boarded pets to make sure that they eat well and are comfortable. Does your pet need special medication? Our staff can give daily medication (for a small added fee) while you are away. Because we are a veterinary hospital, we can care address medical needs while your pet is here.
To make your pet feel more at home, you may bring toys or special bedding (marked with the name of pet and owner). All pets boarding with us are fed Hill’s Sensitive Stomach pet food. At your request, our staff will feed your pet any other diet or treats that you provide.
Boarding Services for Cats
Cats are boarded in kitty condos. Each see-through condo has an area for lounging with an additional perched platform. There are also private areas for a litter box and a cozy sleeping area. As a special feature, cats from the same household can visit one another through passageways that can be opened.
Boarding Services for Dogs
Dogs can be boarded in cages or runs. The cages are available for smaller dogs. When boarded in cages, our kennel staff will walk the dogs in our fenced dog yard. Of course, smaller dogs are also welcome to board in our Standard or Luxury runs.
Our kennel provides both Standard Runs and Luxury Runs. All runs feature a doggie door that allows access to a private outside fenced run area. Luxury runs are necessary for larger dogs or for dogs that would like a larger, more private space. The inside area of the luxury runs measure 9.5 feet by 5 feet.
If you have two similar sized dogs (within 10 pounds) that you prefer to have boarded together in a run, we may be able to accommodate your request (some restrictions apply). Please call for more information.
Boarding is by reservation. Be sure to book early so you do not miss out! We do require that boarded pets have proof of vaccinations being given before your reservation is finalized. Our vaccination requirements are as follows:
- Boarding Dogs - current rabies, distemper/hepatitis/parvo, and kennel cough vaccine
- Boarding Cats - current rabies and feline distemper vaccine
If the vaccines were given by another veterinary facility, your veterinarian can fax or email the vaccine history to us.
During the summer months or holidays, our kennels fill up quickly. Please give us a call if you would like to make a reservation for your pet.
